Floyd Mayweather Next Fight: Amir Khan, Danny Garcia Wants Shot Against Pound-For-Pound King

Several fighters are already expressing interest in facing Floyd Mayweather Jr. in his next fight, including Amir Khan and junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia.

In an interview with BoxingScene, Khan reaffirmed his strong interest in going up against Mayweather, who remained undefeated on Saturday night after scoring a dominating win against Marcos Maidana in their rematch.

Khan, who almost got a shot at Mayweather before the unbeaten champion decided to defend his title against Maidana earlier this year, reiterated that a showdown between him and the pound-for-pound king would do good numbers because of his big fan base in England.

"100%, we can make Vegas into England. One thing about the British fans, they travel. They love to travel and they love big fights. And this would be the biggest fight. I really believe that. They'll come over and Vegas will be England," Khan said via BoxingScene.

Khan, who is coming off a dominating win against Luis Collazo in May, is also being linked to fellow Briton Kell Brook and former sparring partner Manny Pacquiao. While both fights look appealing, the Bolton, England admitted that the showdown with Mayweather is his top priority.

"Kell Brook, I don't think he will be healed from that injury that he's got," Khan said. "We're looking at the big, big names. You can't really put the names together, Floyd Mayweather and Kell Brook. We're talking about the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Mayweather. Kell Brook is a fight that will happen, but I really want the Mayweather fight."

Aside from Khan, Garcia is also interested in facing Mayweather, and he is confident that he has what it takes to put a blemished on the boxing superstar's 47-0 record.

"I just have to beat him to the punch, use my jab, fire when he fires punches and find a way like I always find a way," said Garcia, who scored an impressive second-round knockout victory against Rod Salka last month in Brooklyn. "I want all the big fights, all the big names."

Garcia is expected to defend his World Boxing Association and World Boxing Council light welterweight title one more time before moving up to the welterweight division where he could face fighters like Mayweather and Pacquiao.
