Woman Survives Desert 5 Days After Getting Lost On The Way To Casino

Woman survives desert 5 days - An Arizona woman has been rescued from the desert where she has been since last week after losing her way while heading to her favorite Scottsdale casino.

Reports indicate that Arizona police found 79-years-old Ethel Crescenzo using a helicopter. She was reportedly stranded in the Sonoran Desert about 300 miles from her car.

Crescenzo reportedly went missing on Oct. 14. Relatives say she was last seen leaving her home for a casino.

Phoenix authorities had mounted a city-wide searching for Crescenzo. On Thursday, they reportedly issued a Silver Alert for her. Shortly afterwards, somebody called the police saying they had spotted a white Chevy Monte with a customized number plate that read "ETHEL". 

Reports indicate that the woman survives desert 5 days alone thought she was driving towards a casino. But she was in fact heading in the opposite direction.

Crescenzo, who her son says "is very poor on directions," reportedly got lost and eventually ended up around the western part of the Californian border.

"She headed in the wrong area, and she ended up in the desert," George Crescenzo her son said.

The woman, who survived being in the scotching desert for 5 days, said while looking for directions she fell on an embankment and suffered some injuries.

Crescenzo also revealed that she tried to stay cool; using rocks for pillows and bushes to protect herself from the harsh desert heat.

The woman survives desert 5 days has been taken to the hospital after her miraculous rescue. "Right now she's stable, and holding her own. She's getting stronger," her son George said.
