After over two years of separation, it is officially over for ex-couple Heidi Klum and Seal. The Hollywood twosome are now legally divorced after Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mark Juhas finalized and signed off their request.
The ex-couple's divorce was finalized Oct. 14. E! News reported Klum first filed for divorce in April 2012 but entered into a settlement in July. The ex-couple were married for almost seven years before their separation. And the pair has three children together.
However on Oct. 15, TMZ revealed there was no spousal support offered on either side as they had signed a post-nuptial agreement after they tied the knot in 2005. It was also disclosed that Heidi Klum took back her last name after temporarily using "Samuel," which is Seal's last name.
Heidi Klum's and Seal's relationship was book-worthy. The ex-couple used to renew their vows annually and hosting sophisticated Halloween costume parties. The Huffington Post reported the ex-couple's divorce judgment does not give any further details about how the pair will split custody or their assets.
After the separation, Heidi Klum and Seal got into a bitter, much-publicized dispute because she had started dating the family's security personnel, Martin Kirsten. However, throughout their split, Us Weekly said they have resolved the previous issue and have remained amicable like attending events for their children together.
"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal, and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate," the ex-couple stated on a joint statement released when they separated in 2012. "We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart."
"This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition," the ex-couple continued. "We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."
Heidi Klum revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that Seal is travelling a lot. However, the model mom clarified that when her ex-husband is in town, he tries to come and visit them. Meanwhile, Klum also gushed about current beau, Vito Schnabel, a 28-year-old New York-based art dealer who she traveled to Europe with this summer, as per The Daily Mail.
