Kentucky Infant Found - A 20-day-old baby has been found by the police in Florence, only hours after his disappearance triggered a state-wide AMBER alert.
Henry Flores was found at about 7:15 p.m. in the backseat of his mother's dark blue 2001 Volkswagen Jetta, which was parked at Marathon Gas Station on Dixie Highway, Fort Mitchell. He was still wearing the same clothes that he was worn by his mother - a gray pants and a white onesie. Medical experts checked on the baby on the scene and it appears that he is fine.
Little Henry was found fast asleep in the car by two women, who immediately recognized his mother's car from the AMBER alert notification they had received on their phones. "We just started crying. We wanted to make sure that the baby was okay," the two women said.
Just three hours earlier, while Henry's mother was settling her bills at the Speedway Gas Station on US 42, an unidentified suspect entered into her car and zoomed off with her 20-day-old baby in it. Florence police immediately issued an AMBER alert after arriving on the scene.
It is unclear if the suspect ditched the car because he/she finally detected the presence of the baby in it. Police have still not been able to identify the suspect. Reports indicate that investigators would attempt to lift off fingerprints from the vehicle. Investigators are also looking to get a better description of the suspect from surveillance footages of him/her.
The Kentucky infant found at the gas station has brought tears to the eyes of his relatives. The story has also gone viral online. Meanwhile, the police continue to hunt for the elusive suspect who kidnapped the 20-day-child found at the gas station. Authorities have directed anyone with information regarding the case to call Florence police on 859-647-5420.
