Hoda Kotb, 50-year-old "Today" show host, has finally revealed her new boyfriend's identity after keeping it a secret for almost two years. The television presenter's mystery man is the 56-year-old Manhattan financier, Joel Schiffman. The couple has been dating for quite some time now and a possibility for a wedding seems likely to happen.
After almost two years of keeping mum about her personal life, Hoda Kotb finally revealed the identity of her new boyfriend, who is responsible for the look of love on her face. According to The Daily Mail, Kotb's revelation came Friday when she told her "Today" show co-host Carson Daly that she's in love.
"I'm in love, love's good!" Kotb said. "I don't think I ever did until now, I mean, I did to him - he knows! But I really am in love."
Hoda Kotb further opened up about her new boyfriend on Monday. E! News revealed that the host was "outed" by Billy Bush of "Access Hollywood." She even joked that Schiffman is now "out from the shadows," after Bush announced his name.
Although Hoda Kotb had kept her new boyfriend's identity for so long, she admitted that it felt good to finally speak about Schiffman, whom she had just been calling "Boots," and put a stop to the unending speculations.
"You know I have to say it feels...I feel like some relief because you know when you feel like you're keeping a secret," Hoda stated. "I talked to him this morning and I was like, 'Who cares?' He said, 'Who cares?'"
It was not the first time that Kotb, who was married to tennis coach Burzis Kanga from 2005 until 2007, kept the details of her love life out of the public's eye. The New York Post's Page Six reported that she also kept her relationship with lawyer Jay Blumenkopf a secret and just spoke of it after their breakup in 2012.
In an interview with The Huffington Post in August, Hoda Kotb talked about her new boyfriend. And in October, she also spoke about why she wanted to keep her personal life under wraps and her desires to marry again.
"I have found real life joy right as I'm knocking on the door of 50. He's a wonderful guy and I feel very blessed," she said. And when asked about marriage she replied, "You know what, I didn't think I would want to get married again, I've been married once before, but yes!"
Though Hoda Kotb has already mentioned her new boyfriend in the past, it was only on Jan. 20 that she decided to finally confirm his identity. She also confirmed that they had been dating for almost two years and were very happy about the current status of their relationship, Hollywood Life reported.
