‘Flash’ Season 1 Episode 17 [SPOILERS!] Is Barry Allen Exploding In The Next Episode? Plus, Who Is The New Villain?

'Flash' aired its 16th episode for its freshman run last night and it was indeed appropriately titled "Rogue Time." The episode completed the double whammy the latest two episodes of the show served fans on the silver plater. The backtracking was obviously annoying given the momentum of Dr. Wells evil alter-ego's moment to shine. Anyhow, it's a relief to know that Cisco is alive. Of course, this is also means the return of Iris' ignorance that her bestie is the blazing red runner. However, there's no use crying over spilt milk since The CW is already moving on with the series and it seems that 'Flash' season 1 episode 17 is just as interesting as that moment Cisco found out that he was about to get killed.

While most fans may have been pretty disappointed with the turn of events in both "Out of Time" and "Rogue Time," there is still enough reason for them to be excited for the upcoming episode. Hello their Lisa Snart! Yes! Captain Cold or Leonard Snart's sister has arrived to join her brother's badassery. In the comics, Lisa is to being considered as the ice princess with her capacity to create ice wherever her skates landed, writers of the show may have something else in store for this gorgeous villainess. Is the gold-shooting gun her thing? Perhaps it's too early to predict. Viewers should just wait for her storyline to continue in 'Flash' season 1 episode 17 for them to find out.

Anyhow, on the not-so-interesting side, there goes Barry's confession to Iris. And the struggle to get out of the firendzone is starting to get real. Iris and Eddie are obviously back together after the time leap to the recent past. And this is just adding more awkward moments between Barry and Iris. Show writers may have wanted a "slowly but surely" take on their possible romance, but for now fans are doomed to suck it up and stay tune for more of Barry and Iris' friendship. After all, romance could be the endgame for these two.

Following 'Flash' season 1 episode 16, The CW closed the episode with a sneak peek at the upcoming one, which is entitled "The Trickster." "Star Wars" actor Mark Hamill is joining the show next week as a meta-human, who enjoys playing tricks - especially the deadly ones. The teaser suggests that Central City will be in big trouble when bombs start plaguing its people. Barry will of course find his way towards this meta-human, but he will not be that pleased when the Trickster pulls a deadly trick on him, with only one solution to spare his life: Run Barry Run!!!

Here is the official synopsis of 'Flash' season 1 episode 17: "A copycat killer who goes by the name "The Trickster" (guest star Devon Graye) starts setting off bombs in Central City. In order to stop the villain, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) meet with the original Trickster, a criminal mastermind named James Jesse (guest star Mark Hamill), who has been imprisoned for 20 years. Things quickly go from bad to worse when the Tricksters unite and take Henry (John Wesley Shipp) prisoner. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) asks Eddie (Rick Cosnett) for help with a case, and flashbacks show how Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) came up with the idea for the particle accelerator."

'Flash' is set to air its all-new season 1 episode 17 next Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW.
