It Is Finally Here! McCarthy, McKinnon, Jones And Wiig Join Forces For ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot

News of “Ghostbusters” getting a reboot has been on the web for quite a while. With Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Kristen Wiig on the cast, fans of the franchise are in for a treat. Information about the details of the new movie is coming to light but the plot and the premise of the story have yet to be released.

NY Daily News reported that Director Paul Feig shared the new and improved uniform of the ladies and, of course, the iconic proton pack. One photo showed actress Melissa McCarthy wearing the new uniform which is quite similar to the original except for the orange stripes.

Time also reported that Bill Murray, one of the stars from the original film, suggested Emma Stone as one of the lead female character for the film’s reboot. Stone turned down the offer stating that, “The script was really funny. It just didn’t feel like the right time. A franchise is a big commitment – it’s a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water.”

Fans are going to love that the receptionist for the Ghostbusters reboot is none other than Chris Hemsworth. It was reported that a little revision in the script was made to make the role more suitable to his image. Hemsworth is known for his roles in "Thor" and "The Avengers."

Since the news of the reboot, a lot of actors and actresses for that matter wanted to join the fun.  Entertainment Weekly reported that even the Channing Tatum is interested. The actor admitted in an interview that he’s definitely interested and “would love to do it”, but, as of now, he still doesn’t know whether he is getting a role or not.

Ghostbusters is due for release July 2016.
