Presidential daughter Malia Obama landed a dreamgirl internship this summer, working with Lena Dunham on HBO's hit series "Girls."

Us Weekly said that Barack Obama's first daughter is a big fan of the series and mentioned it to Dunham when she visited the White House. The Us Weekly source further added that they were not sure how long Malia will be interning for the show. Lean and the first daughter are getting along great.

Malia was born on the fourth of July and just turned 17 recently. As part of her internship, she has already been seen along the Brooklyn neighborhood delivering coffee for the cast and crew and keeping the public away from the set, as reported by TMZ.

The critically-acclaimed series follows the life of aspiring writer Hannah Helene Horvath (Dunham) and her circle of friends. Known for its raw nature, humor and inside look at the daily struggles of living in the Big Apple, the series has its own share of controversies and criticisms for its themes on friendship, sexuality and relationships.

This is not Malia's first time to put her toes on the waters of the entertainment industry. She had worked as a production assistant for Halle Berry on the show "Extant" on CBS.

The Sydney Morning Herald also noted that Malia also had her internship at a fashion house as she prepared for her return to the capital for her final year and preparation for college.

Next year, Malia will be graduating from Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. Come fall, she will enter college, and was seen recently checking out New York University. She has also toured Columbia University wherein her father is a noted alumnus. She has also checked out Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley.

The chief executive's first daughter has come a long way and has blossomed into a beautiful young lady. President Obama is quite protective of his daughters. In an interview with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, Ripa asked President Obama if Malia went with a boy to her high school prom, and the president said that it was classified information.
