‘Ghostbusters 3’ UPDATE: Everything You Need To Know — Plot, Cast, Release Date & Villain; Plus A Fan-made TRAILER [WATCH]

"Ghostbusters 3" is going to hit the theaters soon, and while others are expressing their interest in the new film, there are some who disapprove. Nonetheless, there are the things — plot, cast, release date, villain, spoilers and trailer — that fans need to know about the "Ghostbuster" franchise.

The Plot

The plot is pretty much going to be similar — the leads will be fighting against troublemaking spectres.  But, this time it's going to be an all-female group, with a male secretary.

The Cast

"Ghostbuster 3" will star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Latinos Health learned that Wiig will be playing the character named Erin Gilbert.

The character Abby Yates will be played by McCarthy, the role of Patty Tolan will be taken by Jones and Jillian Holtzmann's character will be played by McKinnon.

Michael K. Williams will be playing the role of Hawkins, the city mayor, Matt Walsh as Rouke and Chris Hemsworth as the new secretary.

The Villain

The writer of "Saturday Night Live," Neil Casey, landed the villain role, Deadline exclusively reported.

Casey will be joined by William Atherton, who will be playing Walter Peck, and Stay Puft, who will be the Marshmallow Man.

The Spoiler

Paul Feig, the new film's director, and the rest of the production team are still tight-lipped about what's really going to happen. As of this time, there is a limited information that can be spoiled, but one inside story leaked about this film and Hemsworth.

Sony offered the "Thor" star a male lead role, according to Franchise Herald. He reportedly turned down the offer because the part was too small.

The producers had to re-write the script for "Ghostbuster 3" and give him a significant role.

The Release Date

Feig's new film will bow the theaters on July 22, 2016.
