Hulk Hogan 2015: WWE’s Persona Non Grata? Ex-Wrestler Retweets Obama’s Use Of N-Word

Ex-professional wrestler Hulk Hogan is currently beleaguered after his racist tirade in a 2012 sex tape made the news on July 24. And while his 24-year-old singer-model daughter, Brooke Hogan, came to his defense, WWE terminated his contract. He is also considered a "persona non grata" at the privately controlled entertainment company.

Since last week, WWE veteran Hulk Hogan has been in the middle of a firestorm when his racial slurs in one of his sex tapes emerged amid the ongoing $100 million lawsuit against Gawker Media. According to The Daily Beast, Hulkster complained to the woman (Heather Cole) in the tape regarding an unidentified billionaire black man who offered to help fund his daughter's music career.

"I mean, I'd rather if she was going to f-k some n-r, I'd rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n-r worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player! I guess we're all a little racist. F-king n-r," Hogan said during his hate speech.

Following the emergence of Hulk Hogan's controversial racist tirade, the former WWE superstar issued an apology.

"Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it," Hogan said in a statement given to People.

"This is not who I am," he added. "I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs."

On Sunday night however, WWE vet Hulk Hogan retweeted a controversial post regarding U.S. President Barack Obama's use of N-word to his more than 1 million social media followers. The alleged racist comment of the President was taken during a discussion about race in America with Marc Maron for his podcast.

"Racism, we are not cured of it. And it's not just a matter of it not being polite to say n-----r in public," Obama said. While Hogan retweeted these words, "Bi-racial President Obama uses N word, is applauded and keeps his job. @HulkHogan uses N word, is vilified and loses his job."

Meanwhile, Hulk Hogan has been very active on Twitter following the backlash he received from WWE amid his racial slurs controversy. As per Newsday, the 61-year-old ex-pro wrestler reached out and thanked his fans for their support. While several of his friends defended him through social media, The Hamilton Spectator noted.
