‘Arrow’ Season 4 News Roundup: Get To Know New Characters; Stephen Amell Defends Oliver Queen’s ‘No-Goatee’ Look

With the fourth season of the "Arrow" television series set to premiere on Oct. 7, fans can expect to see a whole new roster of villains that will go up against main lead Oliver Queen.

In a report by Movie Pilot, one of the characters fans of the series will get to meet in the upcoming season is Damien Darhk. A member of the villainous H.I.V.E. organization, Darhk will join the fourth season of "Arrow" as a pivotal and regular character.

He will be portrayed by Neal McDonough, who played Dum Dum Dugan in the 2011 Marvel film, "Captain America: The First Avenger."

Another character fans can expect to see is Baron Blitzkrieg. According to reports, this character will be shown through flashbacks, which will also be used to reference the fictional criminal organization Shadowspire.

In the DC comics universe, Blitzkrieg wears a protective body armor and has superhuman strength, agility and endurance. The character will be brought to life in the show by British actor Jimmy Akingbola.

Joining the new list of villains for the show's upcoming season is Anarky. Although the character was portrayed in different versions in the DC comics, "Arrow's" Anarky will be a professional criminal who is willing to do anything to impress his employers.

In the upcoming season, he will reportedly be connected with Darhk or another character from H.I.V.E. Anarky will be played by Canadian television and film actor Alexander Calvert.

Rounding up the group of villains for the show's upcoming episodes is Double Down, who will be portrayed by JR Bourne of "Teen Wolf." This character is known for bringing is playing card tattoos to life and using them as weapons. He is set to appear in the third episode of the next season.

But aside from villains, fans will also be treated to a new "Arrow" costume. Previous seasons have already hinted that main lead Stephen Amell's The Hood character will slowly transform into the Green Arrow, according to Zap2it.

This transition will be completed in the fourth season once the character dons his new green-themed suit. However, since the original comic book character sported a distinct goatee, fans of the series have been wondering if Amell will sport the same look.

The series' lead actor recently turned to Twitter to finally settle the issue surrounding his character's facial hair. He announced that he will never grow a goatee for the show, Cinema Blend reported.

"100% no," he tweeted. "Our show could go 14 seasons and a goatee will never appear. Hope that clears things up. Forever."
