'Blacklist' Heads To A New Direction, Says NBC Chair; 3 BURNING Questions Fans Want Answered In Season 3

The changes that will be happening to the "Blacklist" when it returns to NBC for season 3 this fall are no secret. Cast Megan Boone, who's playing Liz Keen, said the characters for the third season would still be the same, but the show's going to be different, as per the report of Realty Today.

Even NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt confirmed that the changes made in the third season will "energize the whole thing."

"The trajectory of the story is great, because it's a switch-up from what the format has been," he stated during the Television Critics Association press tour before revealing his thoughts about the show - that it is headed towards a really fun and new direction, Ecumenical News learned.

The previous happenings plus the big change equals curious fans asking if these three things will happen.

1.      Is Liz's mother going to make an appearance?

It was revealed on the latter part during the season two that Katarina Rostova, a Russian spy, is Liz's mother. Many are speculating that her character is still alive.

The show did not confirm her appearance, neither her death. Either way, according to MoviePilot, her character will play an important part as more secrets unravel in the "Blacklist" season 3.

2.      Will they now reveal Red's real connection with Liz?

If there is one secret the "Blacklist" is good at keeping that is the relationship of Red Reddington, played by James Spader, with Liz Keen. That question is being consistently asked.

The amount of love and care, which are very obvious, he's giving to Liz created rumors that they could be romantically involved. Another speculation is the father-daughter relationship.

"I think she loves him," says Boone, "but I don't think there are romantic feelings. ... I don't necessarily think it's a [romantic] love story between Liz and Reddington, even though there are people out there that really feel that's what they want," Boone said back in May, as per the report of International Business Times.

NBC is still tight-lipped about it, so fans will need to be a little more patient.

3.      Now that they're both on the run, how will they catch the people in Red's "Blacklist?"

That is a very good question, and that made us wonder too. Latinos Post learned from the report of Master Herald that the pattern for the "Blacklist" season 3 is still going to be the same — they will scratch off one name from the list one at a time.

How they're going to do that, though, is yet to be seen.

The "Blacklist" season 3, which was initially slated on Sept. 24, will return on Oct. 1 instead.
