Unexpected twists will definitely shake thing up in "Castle" Season 8. It was previously reported that the upcoming season will kick off after Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) accepted the "Poe's Pen" career achievement award. Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), however, will find herself at a professional crossroads, wherein a promotion awaits her at the NYPD.
New cast of characters will also be introduced in "Castle" Season 8. Based on the previous spoiler update, Toks Olagundoye will be joining the "Castle" cast this season. She will be introduced as Hayley Shipton in the first episode entitled, "XY." Adam Baldwin will also make a comeback as Detective Ethan Slaughter, who will be reportedly seen early in the season.

1. Baby-on-the-way plotlines in "Castle" Season 8?
Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Eposito (Jon Huertas) will be welcoming another child together, Latin Post revealed. Unfortunately, the experience will be filled with tension and conflicts.
"We have some exciting news for the Ryan family: They're expecting another kid," new executive producer Terence Paul Winter told TV Guide. "Ultimately, that's going to make Ryan even more paranoid and more excited about trying to make more money. When he sees Beckett rising up in the ranks, the boys realize it's time for them to start looking at their futures, which is going to create some tension and conflict between them."
2. Fans will learn more about Castle's missing time.
"This year, we really do want to get into what happened when he was gone in a way that hopefully ties a lot of the threads of mysteries of seven seasons together in an unexpected and exciting way," executive producer Alexi Hawley said, as per Entertainment Weekly.
3. Castle and Beckett to pursue parenthood?
Whatever challenges the couple may face in "Castle" Season 8, the producers of the series are keen on building the couple's relationship.
"It's always been about the Castle-Beckett love story," Winter said. "That's steeped in the DNA of the show, and that's what it will always be."
4. Castle's new partner to threaten Castle and Beckett's marriage?
Despite initial speculations that Hayley Shipton will be a threat to the couple's marriage, producers said it's not going to happen.
"That was never our intention," Hawley said. "It's not going to happen."
5. Rick's daughter, Alexis (Molly C. Quinn) joins Castle's investigative service.
Now a college senior, Alexis will be challenging her dad after she clears and solve cases faster, more than he has resolved, HNGN noted.
