Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen Abandon Divorce Plans After Judge Drops Patriots’ QB’s Four-Game Suspension Over Deflategate Controversy

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen seemed to have ditched their divorce plans after a federal judge nullified Brady's four-game suspension in the Deflategate controversy. The ruling on Thursday came after weeks of pushing for a settlement.

In Tom Brady's battle to have his four-game suspension overturned, the New England Patriots' quarterback is finally out of suspension following the league's punishment when he was dragged into the Deflategate scandal. According to SB Nation, Judge Richard M. Berman reversed NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's ruling, citing the fact that the league refused to let its chief attorney, Jeff Pash, to testify at Brady's appeal, which was something the judge considered during the course of the hearing this month.

Manhattan's Federal District Court judge Berman did not rule on whether Tom Brady was indeed involved in tampering the footballs. But The New York Times noted that he concentrated more on the doubts regarding the collective bargaining deal between the NFL and the players' union, which gave Goodell the authority to carry out the suspension. In addition, he also took into consideration if Gisele Bundchen's husband was treated fairly during making an appeal to have his suspension reversed.

"Based upon the foregoing and applicable legal authorities, the Court hereby denies the Management Council's motion to confirm the Award and grants the Players Association's motion to vacate the Award, thereby vacating the four-game suspension of Tom Brady immediately," Berman wrote in the 40-page ruling.

Meanwhile, NFL will not seek an injunction to ban Brady from taking the field for the Patriots' Sept. 10 season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, New York Daily News reported that the league did file the papers that sought the Second Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn the ruling, which is an uncertain process that could last for months.

"We are grateful to Judge Berman for hearing this matter, but respectfully disagree with today's decision," Goodell said in a statement. "We will appeal today's ruling in order to uphold the collectively bargained responsibility to protect the integrity of the game."

In other news, since the New England Patriots Deflategate controversy started in January, rumors have it that power couple Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have been struggling in their relationship. But a source told E! News that they will not be heading for divorce.

"This summer was just a bit different," a source said. "Gisele had a lot going on, so they weren't always in the same place at the same time. They are living their life, and they're doing great."
