Nick Cannon Lupus [UPDATE]: Mariah Carey’s Ex Remains Positive Amid Ongoing Fight Against Lupus-Like Autoimmune Disease

Nick Cannon Lupus Update — Despite his ongoing battle against a lupus-like autoimmune disease, "America's Got Talent" host Nick Cannon has remained positive throughout the ordeal. In his latest Instagram post, Mariah Carey's ex was commended by his followers for his remarkable strength in fighting his condition.

Three years ago, Nick Cannon was diagnosed with a lupus-like autoimmune disease after a fatal health episode when he was hospitalized for kidney failure. Due to his hospitalization, Daily Mail revealed the 34-year-old host first knew about the disease. Though his doctors assured him that his sickness is controllable and that he will live, he was re-admitted in the hospital with life-threatening blood clots in his lungs just two weeks after his initial hospitalization.

"It's a rare form of lupus that's just attacking my kidneys," Cannon said in 2012, as per ABC News. "They thought it was just kidney disease, and then they were trying to figure out why my immune system was attacking my kidneys and that was sort of the root of it all."

In July, however, Nick Cannon was back at the hospital again due to his lupus-like autoimmune disease. At the time, the father-of-two admitted that he wasn't taking care of his health as he needed. But in order to not worry his fans, Cannon shared an Instagram message along with a picture of him in the hospital, as previously reported.

"Don't worry, Temporary pit stop... Sometimes I can be a little too bull headed and stubborn," Cannon wrote on Instagram. "I gotta stop running my body to the ground. I be wanting to grind nonstop but the engine can't run on fumes. On the low though, I really think I'm a super hero... Now I'm not saying I'm Batman, but I am saying nobody has ever seen me and Batman in the same room together. LOL #ImGood."

Just last week, Nick Cannon posted another message on Instagram as an update in his battle against lupus.

"Lupus slows me down but it ain't stopping me," Cannon's picture message read along with his caption, "#Strength #Fight We got this!! #LupusWarriors #Cure."

Many of his fans commended Nick Cannon for staying strong in spite of the uncertainties his disease could bring. His fans sent messages of love and support along with some well wishes on the comment section of his Instagram post.
