Chad Ochocinco Cut From Miami Dolphins After Head Butting Wife

Formerly known as Chad "Ochocinco", but now as Chad Johnson, after the request of his wife, may have been terminated from the Miami Dolphins after spending the night in a Florida jail for allegedly head butting his wife Evelyn Lozada.

The incident took place in front of their Florida mansion, TMZ reports. According to police reports, "Johnson" claims he accidently bumped heads with Lozada.

Johnson was arrested after police found Lozada with lacerations on her forehead. She told police that she confronted her husband after finding a receipt for condoms in the trunk of their car, which turned into a heated argument.  She later fled to a neighbor's house, where she called 911.

the Miami Dolphins posted a notification on their website saying "The Miami Dolphins terminated the contract of WR Chad Johnson, the team announced today."

A reality show surrounding the newlyweds, called "Ev & Ocho" was set to premiere on Sept. 3. It is now unclear if the show will ever see the light of day although production has finished.

The couple "jumped the broom" in front of cameras on July 4.

Lozada, star of VH1's "Basketball Wives" was previously married to NBA player Antoine Walker.

The last time Johnson, "Ochocinco" had a run in with the law was during his college days on a domestic dispute.

If convicted, Chad faces a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $1000 fine.
