FKA Twigs VS Taylor Swift: 'Thanks But No Thanks,' FKA Twigs Does Not Want To Be In Taylor's Squad

FKA Twigs, unlike everyone else, does not want to be a part of Taylor Swift's famous "squad," a group of celebrities and artists that serves as Swift's main circle of friends.

According to Billboard, Twigs was asked regarding her performance and how she connects with her audience. To be more specific, the "Pendulum" singer compared her different approach on connecting with fans against Swift, whose style revolves around "being your friend."

In an interview from Paper, Twigs said, "I think Taylor Swift is great, but I wouldn't necessarily think, 'Oh my god, I have to be friends with her.'"

She further added, "When I meet fans, they're quite creative and intelligent, kind, sensitive. Some are old ladies, witch doctors from Louisiana, kids that have just left art school. Gay or lesbian couples, straight middle-aged couples."

The singer said that she feels people respond to her honesty and also expressed her reluctance to call her fans, "fans."

"I'm honest, and that comes out," she said.

Twigs elaborated, "Honest people come in lots of different types and they relate to things that aren't straightforward. I'm happy that people can roll with me, give me a chance, and let me explain my songs through my visuals. But I don't even like calling fans 'fans.' It's like, [pulls face ] Ugh, fans. [laughs] It's just people that like your music."

In a related report by Gossip Cop, although Twigs does not want to be included on the Country-Pop star's "squad," they do have one thing in common as they both made Vanity Fair's 2015 International Best Dressed list.

However, the similarities seem to end there as even their dressing styles are almost complete opposites, with Swift preferring to dress with classy, stylish clothes while Twigs leaning toward the indie, goth-inspired clothing.

It looks like the divide between "Team Taylor" and "Team Twigs" is here to stay.
