‘TVD’s’ Ian Somerhalder Supports ‘Amazing’ Nikki Reed While ‘Mean Girl’ Nina Dobrev Promotes New Movie ‘Final Girls’

“Vampire Diaries” Season 7 actor Ian Somerhalder has just shown another gesture toward his wife, “Twilight” actress Nikki Reed, via Instagram. Meanwhile, his ex Nina Dobrev is currently promoting her all new big screen offering, “The Final Girls,” since leaving the “TVD” set for good.

The camera is done rolling for Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev's onscreen and offscreen romance, and the exes have since moved on from each other, but their fans and the media still can't help but associate the two Hollywood actors together.

On Friday, Somerhalder, who is currently working on the seventh run of The CW's "Vampire Diaries," took the time to show his support to his friend-turned-wife Nikki Reed via Instagram on the latter's newest endeavor -- her partnership with Freedom of Animals

In a post he proudly shared to his six million followers, the Damon Salvatore actor wrote a sweet message to his wife alongside a photo of Reed's poster

"I'm blown away by this amazing human. Recycling plastic into these beautiful bags is incredible. American made with quality, love and style. See you all in NYC tomorrow to launch this amazing partnership and celebrate the woman behind the designs. Pre order now or share with someone who would like these beautiful pieces. Congrats @iamnikkireed and thank you for your tireless effort to empower people through kindness, conservation, information, perspective and of course-style. Wow.
Love, Your Human/Husband," Somerhalder, who is also a well-known conservationist, wrote.

Reed, who is currently starring on the Fox series "Sleepy Hollow," has yet to respond to her husband's post, but days prior she already asked her Instagram followers to support her cause in making fashionable bags ethical.

In a post, she wrote: "One week from the launch of my new bag line at @bloomingdales ! Support this line, spread the word, and inspire people to make more ethical and conscious decisions in consumption. You guys supporting a local economy means we won't have to mass-produce overseas! We make ALL of our bags in the U.S.A. out of recycled plastic, but it takes your commitment to create more of a demand for those U.S. made products. Thank you so much!! Let's do this!!"

Meanwhile, the former "Vampire Diaries" actress Nina Dobrev took to Instagram on Friday to promote her latest movie, "The Final Girls," in which she stars as Vicki the "Mean Girl."

In her solo cartoon poster for the film, which she shared on Instagram, her character could be seen sharpening a stick with a knife. She captioned the post: "Yep. That's me. Meet Vicki. #FinalGirls."

Her post comes days after Somerhalder opened up to E! News that though Nina's character, Elena Gilbert, is not part of Damon's storyline, she will always be in his heart.

"All I can say about that is that they were great characters separate, they were great characters together, and they remain great characters separated," Dobrev's ex said. "Damon is still here and he's still evolving and he's still having a blast and he's still saying super-smarmy, ridiculously overly confident, very wildly embarrassing and degrading things and he will continue to do that, but with a little love for Elena in his heart."
