“Vampire Diaries” Season 7 has obviously moved on from the now defunct love story between Ian Somerhalder’s Damon and Nina Dobrev’s Elena. Now, Paul Wesley’s Stefan and Candice King’s Caroline are taking front and center. However, episode 3 of this season may actually be the end for Steroline. Find out why below.
It sucks to be immortal, and this is very evident in "Vampire Diaries" Season 7 Episode 3 this Thursday night on The CW. The series has been following vampires who have lived for centuries and now things from the past are going to catch on them at present. Cue Lily bringing some hard-to-digest news to Stefan.
Apparently, Lily picked the right time to break a shocking revelation to Stefan. In tonight's show, she is going to find herself conversing with Stefan when the latter asks her to treat Candice King's Caroline well, Hollywood Life has learned.
In a sneak peek, Stefan could be seen approaching Lily to tell the latter that she should do something about her heretics since they are not treating Caroline well. Around the same time Lily learns directly from Stefan that he is not on good terms with his brother Damon, who is out there somewhere. Don't miss tonight's show. Then came the big reveal when Stefan asks his mother if one of the heretics is Valerie (Elizabeth Blackmore). Lily knows that Stefan is going to bring up Valerie sooner or later, so she drops the bomb when she admits that Valerie is someone dear to Stefan in the past. When Stefan asks Valerie how she knows that he is aware of Valerie's presence, Lily replies, "Because Stefan, I sent her to you."
Steroline fans will surely be pissed off when Valerie's real intentions are revealed tonight. Entertainment Weekly even noted that when Caroline finds out about Stefan and Valerie's past romance, her blossoming present-day romance with the younger Salvator brother will forever be changed. Well, maybe not forever, but for this season it will be pretty messy.
Meanwhile, Elena's witch BFF is preoccupied with something else when the all-new episode airs. While she and Damon and Alaric go hunting for the sixth heretic, her relationship with Alaric will progress. Kat Graham opened up to TV Line about what's in store for Bonnie and Alaric tonight saying, "When Alaric opens up to her about what's going on [with Jo], I think you'll get to see a really cool side to their relationship." The official synopsis of "TVD" Season 7 Episode 3 entitled "Age of Innocence" reads: "Damon goes on a road trip with Bonnie and Alaric to find something he can use against his mother; Caroline, who is being held hostage by the Heretics, learns some shocking information about Valerie's past; Stefan learns a few unexpected details about his own past from Lily; Alaric turns to Bonnie for her help after coming clean about a secret he's been keeping."
