Upgrade Your OnePlus X With Oxygen OS Update — Improvements And Added Features Here!

Your OnePlus X just got a whole lot better thanks to OxyGen OS update rolling out today.

As reported by GSM Arena, the new software update is going to be released and no, it's not the Android "Marshmallow" in case you're confused with the name. Your smartphone will still run the Android 5.1.1 "Lollipop" even after you install this update.

What gives? What does the Oxygen OS update do? For starters, it will bring several enhancements to the microSD card support on the device.

According to an official blog post by the company, "We've heard your feedback and have spent some time focusing on improving the user experience for SD card[s]. We are not done yet so please expect more updates and feature additions to come in the next couple of OTAs..."

In addition, Gadgets reported the the Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update for the OnePlus X features improvements with regards to the user interface, exFAT SD card support, the ability to move apps to and from an SD card and fix for reboots caused by removing the SD card in an active state.

Moreover, the update for the OnePlus X operating system also includes a myriad of security patches and general bug fixes and optimizations.

OnePlus also said that the OTA or Over-The-Air roll out would take place in phases, elaborating the process. The company said that it initially rolled out the update to just 10 percent of its users to check if the OTA system is working correctly adding, "We usually open up OTAs to the general public 24-48 hours after the initial release if all goes well."

It should be noted that according to Techno Buffalo, only about 10 percent of its users are getting the update today. So if you have yet to receive your update, Ubergizmo said that users should just wait patiently because they will receive their OS update shortly after.

OnePlus announcer earlier this month started rolling out the Oxygen 2.1.2 update to the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X smartphones that also brought user interface bug fixes in the Camera app, improvement to color offset in HDR mode, bug fixes to the System Update to improve Over-The-Air stability, system optimizations in low battery state and general bug fixes and performance improvements.

The Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update will definitely make the OnePlus X even better, despite the phone already being a terrific device.

The Chinese-based maker really wants its people to switch to the brand, evidenced by listening to its customers and quickly rolling out an update and fix for its phones.

This only means one thing, competitors beware because OnePlus really means business.
