Android 6.0.1 Update RELEASED! Google Fixes Bugs, Adds New Emojis To Marshmallow Upgrade

Google just released the latest Android 6.0.1 update and although it's far from anything major, it's still important for users nonetheless.

The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow gives out the much needed fix to a few bugs, some subtle, but major security issues, while also bringing some additional cool new features.

As reported by Yahoo! Tech, the latest update brings out tons of new emojis. Although it's not exactly a huge improvement as far as performance is concerned, the emojis are still appreciated by users who make use of them.

Over the years, Apple's iOS has trumped the Android in this department, so it's nice to see that Google is finally making moves to up the ante. In addition, the keyboard has also been updated with a new tab layout for the emoji section.

Another useful update that the Android 6.0.1 brings is that users can now open up the Camera app in a faster way. Just by double tapping, you can already use it and start taking magnificent photos.

For Google loyalist, this feature is already present on the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, but with the OS update, it's now available on older devices such as the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 and the Nexus 9.

In a similar article by Tech 2, the new Marshmallow brings the Google Android Security Update, which includes a number of fixes for a long list of vulnerabilities. To make the user aware how important was the fix, just by heading to the Nexus Security Bulletin page and it stated that it fixed 4 critical issues, 10 high level fixes and 2 moderate fixes.

Information Week elaborated on these issues and said that of the critical vulnerabilities, the most significant could enable remote code execution on affected devices when interacting with media files via email, the Internet and MMS.

According to Google, it received no reports of the said critical issue being used to exploit end-users. But still, the company notified its handset partners about the security holes and released the source code patches within two days.

But then again, one can see that the new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is not a big deal at all, but if one wants to keep up to the trend as much as possible, especially if one's device is still using the 5.1.1 Lollipop, it's really time for you to get in with the times.

Also, aren't you a little envious of your friends who are using emojis non-stop? With this new Android OS fix from Google, you can now join in on the fun.
