The competition is heating up for the upcoming "Miss World" 2015 coronation and excitement is already palpable. On Dec. 19, the whole world will welcome the 65th Miss World competition winner at the Beauty Crown Grand Theatre in Sanya, Hainan Island in China. So, who among the 117 candidates will be crowned as the next successor of "Miss World" 2014 winner Rolene Strauss of South Africa?

The "Miss World" pageant first started in 1951 with 26 contestants. Today, it is the oldest surviving beauty pageant competition. And as this year's beauty and brains battle heats up, here are 4 latest updates about the upcoming coronation in China.

1. "Miss World" 2015 Hosts

"Miss World" 2013 Megan Young of the Philippines is all set to host this year's coronation, The Times of India revealed. The Filipino-American actress, model and TV host will be joined by "Access Hollywood" presenter Tim Vincent, who will be hosting the event for the fourth time. Taiwanese-Canadian Angela Chow, who had previously presented "Miss World" from 2003 until 2011, will also be one of the hosts along with Mr. World Canada 2013 Frankie Cena as the pageant's web presenter.

2. "Miss World" 2015 Judges

The judges for this year's coronation include Miss World Organization President Julia Morley, "Miss World" musical director Mike Dixon as well three other past winners including Ivian Sarcos from Venezuela (Miss World 2011), Zhang Zilin (Miss World 2007), and Yu Wenxia (Miss World 2012), International Business Times noted.

3. "Miss World" 2015 Challenges Winners

Traditionally, the candidates will compete in five challenges before the final round including Talent, Sports and Fitness challenge, Multimedia Award, People's Choice Award and Top Model. So far, Miss Guyana Lisa Punch and Miss Namibia Steffi Van Wyk have been hailed as the Talent and Sports and Fitness challenges winner, as per another International Business Times report.

As for the other challenges, there are no winners yet. But in the Multimedia award category, which the contestants are judged on their ability to make 6 second videos and raise donations through it, Miss New Zealand is leading the chart with 7117 donations. While in the People's Choice Awards, the top 10 contestants who are close to winning the recognition include beauties from Cameroon, India, Ecuador, France, Lebanon, Philippines, Thailand, Russia, Venezuela and Vietnam.

According to the latest predictions of beauty pageant expert Missosology, the top 5 hot picks are Tess Alexander of Australia, Sofia Nikitchuk of Russia, Catharina Nunes of Brazil, Maria Alejandra Lopez of Colombia and Aditi Arya of India. Also on the top list are representatives from Lebanon, Vietnam, Philippines, South Africa, Poland, China, Sweden, Namibia, Venezuela and France.
