Xbox One’s Latest Update Includes The Ability To Buy Xbox 360 Games

Microsoft introduced a new Xbox One update that allows users to buy and download backwards-compatible Xbox 360 games directly on the console, which is one of the several features included in the release on Wednesday.

During Microsoft's initial update announcement, Xbox's Major Nelson stated on a blog post saying, "Fans have spent more than 30 million hours playing Xbox 360 games on Xbox One and so it's natural that being able to purchase Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games on Xbox One ranks as one of your top requests. With this update, you'll be able to do so, find and purchase Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games the same way you would with Xbox One titles, and once purchased, Xbox 360 Backward Compatible content will automatically download to your Xbox One and be ready to play."

Relating to the update is a new feature which includes a party chat that enables players to have a total of 16 people, to allow more players to communicate with one another while gaming at the same time. Where players can also stream their live chats on a website, and can even opt out if a player doesn't want their audio included on the site, and can still resume chatting with their party.

In addition to the update is a new party chat option that offers players a setting of preference to how they're heard via headset, speaker or even both. Microsoft also improved its adjustments on the recording lengths of game DVR, tracker for achievement or progress and video playback in the activity feed.

The update also adds an improvement on the Xbox Elite wireless controller's thumbstick precision, where Major Nelson said, "We heard from fans that you wanted to see improvements to the behavior of the thumbsticks on the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, particularly when you are moving the thumbsticks diagonally. Based on this feedback, we've created a new method to calculate the position of the thumbsticks consistently, enabling thumbstick response that is more in line with what you are expecting."

So Microsoft formulated a new technique to determine the setting of the thumbstick that fits better, where instead of the standard method, they measured the distance of the thumbstick position in proportion to the center point to the base of the thumbstick that determines the measurement by means of two-dimensional plane.

The Xbox One Accessories app now includes a page showing current version of the software that the system runs on, and even the battery status for the controller.
