Apple is reportedly preparing for a major upgrade for the new and upcoming Apple Watch 2. So, here are some exciting improvements to expect in the major Apple Watch upgrade.
Apple Watch 2 New Functionality
Apple Inc. is reportedly working on introducing new functionality in the Apple Watch 2. Valuewalk revealed that the next generation Apple Watches will feature new gesture patents and 3D Touch system.
The new gesture-control technology also has the ability to detect the motion and gesture input of a user through the use of hand, arm, wrist and fingers. The gesture-related commands are detailed by Patently Apple.
Apple Watch 2 Can Be Used By Persons with Disability
In line with Apple Watch 2's new functionality, the technology apparently aims to make Apple Watch 2 easier to use, particularly of persons with disabilities. The patent application has the ability to utilize a wide variety of sensors in order to interpret and detect gesture and convert them into spoken or written language.
Apple Watch 2 Flexible Sensors
In addition, the new patent application also has several optical sensors, inertial sensors, mechanical contact sensors and myoelectric sensors. These sensors reportedly have the ability to detect various movements of the body of a user.
Apple Watch 2 Operating System
Apple Inc. has also upgraded its operating system for the existing Apple Watch two weeks ago. The tech company released watchOS 2.2 and many tech experts believed that Apple will be offering "something outstanding" when Apple Watch 2 finally arrives.
Apple Watch 2 Modular Smart Bands
Based on the application titled, "Modular functional band links for wearable devices," it details the new strap design with embedded electronic devices that can be connected through the Apple Watch's diagnostics port.
The designs also suggest breaking functional units out into a series of separate watch band links that can work serially or in parallel, Mac Rumors reported. In addition, several Apple Watch accessories with added functionality include batteries, displays, processors, electricity generators, GPS sensors, cameras, thermometers, blood pressure sensors, sweat sensors and speakers.
Apple Watch 2 Release Date
Apple Inc. has yet to announce a solid release date for the Apple Watch 2, as previously reported. But tech experts believed that the release is expected to come in the second half of 2016.
