2. Guest on 2 Top 10 hits: Sia recorded demos that were chosen for David Guetta's "Titanium" and Flo Rida's "Wild Ones." Her collaboration with these artists spurred a curious interest from listeners, wondering who that other voice was. It was Sia's quiet re-introduction.

3. Co-wrote for Superstars: Her next move was was to start writing with big stars. Her success on this step later materialized with Rihanna's "Diamonds" and Ne-Yo's "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself).

4. Refuse (most) interviews: Her popularity as a songwriter and artist grew but she refused to be put in the spotlight. She would rather live in selective anonymity.

5. Appear on huge soundtracks: Sia partnered the Weeknd for "Elastic Heart" from the "Hunger Games" soundtrack. It was a hit especially for Hunger Games fans.

6. Save one of your hugest choruses for yourself: Her song "Chandelier" was an epic success. It was her lead single with the most highly praised soaring chorus. According to Billboard, Sia delivered its powerful verses in a slurred daze.

7. Release a music videa with a tween star: Sia released "Chandelier's" music video with Maddi Ziegler on screen. Her Youtube views counted 533 million.

8. Team up with an expert pop producer: Her partnership with producer Greg Kurstin was essential.

9. Create must-see performances with your back turned: Going back to her selective anonymity, she performs live on television but never shows her face. She wanted the audience to focus on the choreography on stage like she did on Ellen's TV show.

10. Lastly, own the Grammys without winning any awards. Though "Chandelier" didn't win any spots, she did break the stage with her Grammy performance - one that should have earned her a trophy, according to Billboard.
