Nexus Users With Bank Of America Accounts Can Now Use Their Fingerprints For Signing In

Nexus users holding Bank of America accounts can now use their own fingerprints to sign in. That means no more typing in of numbers and texts and just using your own thumb to log into your BA account.

This upgraded app is able to support APIs (Application Programming Interface), Android's native fingerprint interfaces which were introduced in Marshmallow. Now, all Android M devices equipped with fingerprint scanners are all fingerprint login enabled.

Bank of America initially launched this fingerprint sign-in tech on Androids in September 2016. It was then claimed to work on any Android, but users found out that the app only worked for Samsung devices.

This development is welcome news for mobile bankers since this setup will provide them not only a fast but more importantly a secure method of hopping in and out of their BA accounts.

However, a number of users may think that there is already a fingerprint sign-in being used by this bank. That is correct, but not entirely. This particular app has encountered some serious buggy fingerprint scanner support since September of 2016. And it actually worked only with Samsung devices.

This new update doesn't have these issues since the app is using Marshmallow APIs that will effectively manage fingerprint sign-ins. Finally, Nexus users are now reporting that the feature also works on their non-Samsung devices.

Additionally, the app comes with other perks such as the ability to order new checks from inside the app which takes a lot of hassle out of this particular process. There is also an option of depositing checks using photos. This gives the user the option of not going to the bank anymore to deposit his checks.

However, there are some users who reported of getting some sporadic and annoying security questions. The app developer could look into such concerns to make the app more user-friendly.
