Last Saturday night, the world virtually stopped when Beyonce launched her visual album "Lemonade" on HBO. It is an hour-long musical drama that many find to be a visual eye candy, and an explosion of the mind for every loyal member of the Beyhive.
Primarily the creation of two directors, Kahlil Joseph and Beyonce herself, "Lemonade" also showcased the directorial craftsmanship of a number of the A-plus cinematographers and directors.
They have made this visual eye masterpiece a must-see not just for every Beyonce fans but for video and movie fans as well. Here are some of the craftsmen who created the latest foray into the arts by one of the leading female music icons today.
Jonas Akerlund
Akerlund has worked previously with Bey on "Superpower," and "Haunted."
Melina Matsoukas
Matsoukas, an American Film Institute graduate also worked previously with Bey on "Formation."
Mark Romanek
Romanek assisted Bey in creating "Sandcastles" for this music video album as well as "Forgiveness."
Warsan Shire
Shire, a Somali-British poet brought raw words into lyrical poems and is credited for the album's "film adaptation and poetry."
Todd Tourso
Tourso helped in bringing the vision of "Lemonade" to life and worked as Bey's creative director.
Dikayl Rimmasch
Rimmasch, an American filmmaker is a constant helper to Beyonce's numerous musical projects and this one is no exception.
With the surprise release of "Lemonade" on Saturday night, Beyonce has cemented her status as today's queen of surprise releases.
The music special was widely anticipated and it unsurprisingly ignited social media networks as millions of her fans discussed and debated the contents and visuals of the program.
More importantly, during the show, Bey clarified the long-standing rumors about her marriage troubles with long-time partner Jay Z.
On one of her "Lemonade" songs which leveled some words about Jay Z's cheating, Bey, in some of the later tracks, made it clear that she has decided to reconcile with her husband.
