The Met Gala last Monday proved to be a shining moment for Hollywood stars. In fact, one star that stole the show was 23-year-old model Kate Upton. During the event, she flashed a stunning diamond ring to let everyone know of her engagement to 33-year-old Justin Verlander.
When asked about this, she revealed to E! News that she is "really excited" for the next stage in her life as wife to Justin, a starting pitcher for the Detroit Tigers. She also added, "He asked me right before season started so we've been keeping it on the down low for quite a while."
She also added, "I'm excited to finally be able to share it with the world!" But apparently the couple is in no rush to tie the knot and are currently "enjoying the engagement period."
Back to the gorgeous ring she now wears proudly, Daily Mail UK reported that it was designed by no less than the couple themselves. Kate Upton and Justin Verlander have been dating for over three years.
Her engagement ring was just the icing on the cake as the rest of Upton's ensemble was just as dazzling. She wore a silver custom-made Topshop gown which had an asymmetrical cut. Her right arm was covered in a full sleeve while her left arm was left exposed; it was the perfect design to show off her beautiful engagement ring.
Upton had previously revealed the secret to having an enduring relationship. She said, "For us, we always try and work on our communication." She added that being open with one another and treating each other as best friends "helps a lot."
As for Kate Upton's career, she is set to appear in the 2017 comedy "Wild Man" with will also star Ted Welch, George Dalton, Mike Vogel and Christine Woods. Her last movie was "The Layover". She appeared in this film alongside Alexandra Daddario, Matt Barr, Matt L. Jones, Rob Corddry, Kal Penn, Molly Shannon and William H. Macy in what Wikipedia describes as a "road trip sex comedy."
Upton had previously starred in "The Other Woman", "The Three Stooges" and "Tower Heist".
