This year's list of the 50 most powerful moms in the entertainment, tech and business industry has been revealed. The news comes just in time for the celebration of Mother's Day.
Working Mother Magazine has released their 50 Most Powerful Moms of 2016 list. The publication noted that they have gathered a list of the "most formidable women with kids 18 and under."
"Also on our checklist is the ability to influence and inspire us to reach higher and further in building better lives for ourselves-as well as the sway to elicit thought and change by advocacy and sheer proxy of example," the website wrote. "As we do every year, we've scanned the globe to bring you a singular group of the most powerful working moms in the world."
The list includes women from different industries. Some are from the world of arts and entertainment, fashion, finance and business, media and marketing, philanthropy, politics, retail and manufacturing as well as tech and science.
New additions to the list this year are singers Adele and Carrie Underwood, actress Viola Davis, FremantleMedia Group CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz, Louis Vuitton director and executive vice president Delphine Arnault as well as Trump Organization's executive VP Ivanka Trump, among others. Beyoncé, Cate Blanchett, Donna Langley, Melissa McCarthy, Dana Walden, Kerry Washington, Reese Witherspoon and Victoria Beckham are some of the returning women on the list.
"What makes a mom powerful is more than just her impressive income and professional stature," Jennifer Owens, editorial director of Working Mother Media, said, via WWD. "It includes her ability to inspire us, to change our thinking and to change the world through advocacy. For many of this year's winners, her power is by sheer proxy of example."
In an interview with Vogue last February, Adele revealed just how much her son, Angelo, changed her world. "[Angelo] makes me very proud of myself," she admitted. "When I became a parent, I felt like I was truly living. I had a purpose, where before I didn't."
