'Stranger Things' Season 2 Spoilers, Cast, Air Date: Netflix TV Series Updates, Eleven Not Coming Back?

"She's our friend. And she's crazy!" This is how Dustin, played by Gaten Matarazzo, boasts to the bullies in season 1 about Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown)--how could they keep up if the rumors are true and Eleven's not coming back? Even though the first season ended with gone along with the Upside Down monster--fans would love her to come back.

According to a Parent Herald report, Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of the hit Netflix original, put an end to fans' queries about Barb (Shannon Purser). The Duffer brothers broke it to the fans that Barb's character won't be coming back for season 2. It may be a sad news, but to Purser, her "Stranger Things" experience helped her to be even more visible to the limelight, bringing her more projects. The creators were as generous as they could be in sharing that "Stranger Things" season 2 will not premiere in Hawkins, Indiana and will wander into other towns. They've also shared that just like in the first season, this one will get its inspiration in movies that are shown or at least set up within the 1980's.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 Cast: Is Eleven in it?

Even Brown, herself, still doesn't know if she's a part of the series' sequel. The Mirror reports of a curious, yet positive Brown. She shared how often she texts the Duffers regarding the second season's updates, but they never spill. However, Brown still believes that with or without Eleven, the season will surely be amazing.

What's sure though, casts like Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), and Matarazzo will be back. The characters mentioned above will be present. Plus an additional of four; one is a 13-year old girl, Max, and the other one is a muscular 17-year-old boy, Billy.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 Story: Even Darker?

Eleven and the Monster disappeared towards the end of season 1. The last scene, though, showed Will coughing out a slug, which means that there's more of the Upside Down world to see in the next season. Rumors has it that the second season of "Stranger Things" would even be darker compared to the first one. Netflix's original being a hit was not considered, let alone giving it more sequels, according to its creators.

Entertainment Weekly had an interview with the Duffers and through this the creators shared that they came to a point, while brainstorming for season 2, where they'll give a fast forward to the storyline. Thus, an entirely different casting because the "Stranger Things" kids should be older. But the brothers must have talked sense with decided to keep everything in 1984.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 Air Date: When in 2017?

Since the confirmation for a second season, "Stranger Things" fans were automatic at asking for the specific date of season 2. Nothing about the exact date is confirmed but a promise that it will be back sometime in 2017.
