Kodak’s New Smartphone, Ektra Is The Perfect Device For Photographers

As more and more people start using their phones as cameras, smartphone manufacturers are actually using camera specs as the forefront in their advertising. And now a newcomer to the smartphone game, Kodak, will blur the lines between camera and mobile phone even more with its latest entry, the Ektra.

Kodak is one of those companies that should have been at the forefront of the mobile phone boom. But at least they are now finally joining the fray with their latest creation, the Ektra.

The Ektra is a smartphone created for the photography market. With the mobile phone industry seemingly lowering megapixel count in an attempt to tell consumers that megapixel is not everything. Kodak goes completely the other way by making their phone a 21-megapixel behemoth.

It also boasts of an extremely fast focus with f2.0 aperture. The front camera packs an unheard of 13-megapixel with auto focus which is absolutely glorious or those selfie shots.

The phone also goes all out in the photography department by using a built-in camera app that has some heavy features. Real-time changes can be done using various settings like landscape, HDR, macro, portrait, sport, night, panorama, bokeh, smart mode. There is also a manual mode for those users who like to fancy themselves as advanced shooters.

The Kodak Ektra is ergonomically weighted and designed for photography enthusiasts. It has a shutter button for easier shooting in landscape mode.

As for smartphone side of things, the Ektra will have an Helio x20 2.3ghz decacore processor with 3 GB Ram under its hood. The device will be a bit on the thick side when compared to current industry leaders in the smartphone market because of all the power it placed behind its camera technology.

The Kodak Ektra will be released in Europe later this year.
