Toy Story 4 and The Incredibles 2 Latest News: Disney Rolls Out Updates For Upcoming Animated Movies

The final confirmation fans needed may have just been confirmed by Disney as to when the sequel to their classic animated movies is going to be released. The Incredibles and Toy Story have been announced to have a sequel and a fourth movie respectively, but with the recent announcement from Disney, dates have been confirmed.

The release date of Toy Story 4 and The Incredibles 2 have apparently switched contrary to prior speculations and announcements, with the former to be released on June 21st of 2019 while the latter bumping up to an earlier release date of June 15, 2018.It appears the change may be a strategic move from the perspective of fans, as discussed by Collider.

Fans of the Incredibles have been waiting years longer compared to Toy Story fans which had its third movie only a few years ago. Furthermore, the latest installment of the Toy Story series had such high reviews and a satisfying ending in the story that it would have been enough to keep fans satisfied in any case that the fourth movie would have been canceled or pushed further to accommodate other Disney movies.

In a larger scene, with the recent changes in release dates, the Incredibles sequel will be sandwiched between the release of the 6th Transformers movie and the Jurassic World sequel. Toy Story 4 is now set for release between the speculated dates of release of a yet untitled DC Comic movie and the 7th Transformers movie.

Thankfully, Brad Bird is confirmed to return to the set of the Incredibles 2 to direct the sequel. Back in 2004, the first Incredibles movie won an Oscar for best-animated feature and fans can expect the same quality of drama and animation from this coming sequel.

Regarding records, the 4th Toy Story movie will have a more difficult time in trying to top the 3rd Toy Story movie, having it sit as Pixar's highest-grossing film. Toy Story 4 is bringing back original voice actors Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to voice Woody and Buzz Lightyear.
