The Russo brothers (directors Anthony and Joe) announced a week ago that Chris Evans will no longer be reprising the role of "Captain America" in its fourth solo installment. If that was bad enough for fans of Steve Rogers, another rumor surfaced that could spell a whole lot worse - Captain America will not be in "Avengers: Infinity War."
There are no official statements from the Marvel creators as of yet, but avid fans are already taking a few steps forward by 'wading through foggy horizons.' It is one thing to remove Chris Evans as the patriotic super soldier, but removing the character itself in future Marvel storylines could be too much for fans to accept.
An article published by Tech Times discusses how a Reddit online forum revealed clues of Captain America's total withdrawal from the "Avengers" series. The absence of the iconic Avengers patch in Steve Rogers' shoulder during the latter half of the full-length sequence in "Captain America: Civil War" signifies the apocryphal message that Steve Rogers will no longer be a part of the group.
The dropping of the shield during the last showdown with Iron Man pretty much punctuates these sad sentences. In a report published by Comic Book, further evidence includes the illegal prison break of the Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man and Hawkeye, staged by none other than Steve Rogers himself (then dressed in incognito civilian clothes).
In relation to an editorial featured by Jobs & Hire, the next Captain America may either be one of the several allies that sided with Steve Rogers in "Captain America: Civil War." The likely candidates are either the Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes) or the Falcon (Sam Wilson).
It may be too early to conclude this rumor without comments from the Marvel development team. But are the fans truly prepared to see both actor Chris Evans and Steve Rogers' iconic character leave altogether for good?
