'Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets' News & Updates: Cara Delevingne And Rihanna To Play Unexpected Roles

French comic series titled "Valerian and Laureline" will get a movie adaptation called "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets." Dane DeHaan from "Amazing Spiderman" and Cara Delevingne from "Suicide Squad" joins cast to play the lead roles.

Delevingne has been on the news lately for his snake tattoo that was reported to be intended for her ex-girlfriend ST. Vincent. She is the woman who is currently dating Kristen Stewart. Jobs and Hire reported that the snake tattoo is one of the most negative tattoos.

The model turned actress dated ST. Vincent for almost two years. ST. Vincent and Stewart does not seemed bothered about this rumor and seemed to be happily in love with each other.  

On the other hand, "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" will focus on Valerian and Laureline, agents from future Earth who were assigned to protect an intergalactic city called Alpha.  Luc Besson, "The Fifth Element" director, will direct the upcoming sci-fi movie that was first created in 1967, News Everyday reported

The cast will include Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke, John Goodman, Herbie Hancock and Kris Wu. Viewers should look out for Rihanna who will play a mysterious character that can literally change clothes in a drop of a hat.

Luc Besson really wanted Rihanna to be part of the movie because of her voice, smile, looks and personality. He explained that the singer is not easily intimidated on set because she is used on performing on stage and gets along with her crew, Headline and Global News reported.

The movie trailer has the similar vibe of "Guardians of the Galaxy." It is reported that Besson is particular in making sci-fi movies which is evident on the block buster movie "The Fifth Element."

The movie promises to transport viewers into a universe without boundaries. It has stunning visual effects similar to the "Star Wars" movie and Marvel Cinematic Universe. "Valerian and the City of Thousand Planets" can be seen on theaters on July 21, 2017.
