In a stunning move, "Pokémon GO" went to Facebook to inform "Pokémon" trainers that changes are being made to the "Nearby" feature which the game developer was testing in San Francisco, California. The Facebook post also revealed that the feature 'Sighting' has been modified in response to Trainers' feedback.
According to "Pokémon GO's" official Facebook account, the ability for Trainers to test the updated version of the said features will be expanded in certain areas, worldwide. Trainers in selected areas will be able to use the new "Nearby" and "Sighting" features starting today.
The revamped "Nearby" and "Sighting" features will be made available in some parts of the United States of America, including all the states west of the Mississippi River while excluding Hawaii and Alaska. In Canada, "Pokémon" Trainers from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the western half of Ontario will have access to this latest change in "Pokémon GO." Trainers in all states and territories of Australia will be able to enjoy new features.
This latest change in the hit online game is based on "Pokémon GO" Trainers' feedback. The "Pokémon GO" developer promises to review such feedbacks and make changes to the game so as to accommodate Trainers' suggestions if necessary.
The Facebook post also revealed that "Pokémon GO" team have a "lot of content, features, and functionality" that they will be implementing in the "coming months and years." The team also stated that their goal is "always to improve on existing features" while also "releasing exciting new content and functionality."
"Pokémon GO," developed by Niantic and the Pokémon company, is a location-based augmented reality game. The game currently has more than 100 million downloads. It has either kept pace or have exceeded traditional powerhouse games such as the "Clash of Clans," "Game of War," "Candy Crush," and "Clash Royale."
With this latest update being based on user-feedback, "Pokémon GO" developer is letting its gamers know that their suggestions are greatly valued. This move will certainly be appreciated by gamers and could heap rewards in the future since it would appear that the users and developers are developing the game hand-in-hand. Or in this case, Pokéball to Pokéball.
