Emily the Strange was created by Rob Reger for his company Cosmic Debris Etc. Inc. located in San Francisco, California. She is a very famous character that was also known in several books, graphic novels, several merchandise, and clothing lines as an advertising mannequin and mascot character.
A report from IGN revealed that Emily the Strange will be developed as an animated movie. Dark Horse Entertainment is dealing with Amazon to produce the film. Once the negotiation is finalized, Rob Reger will act as a producer together with Dark Horse's Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg.
Emily the Strange was published in different formats by famous comic publishers including Chronicle books, Dark Horse Comics, and Harper Collins. According to Goodreads ,the Chronicle Books includes Emily's Secret Book of Strange, Emily's Good Nightmares and Emily's Seeing is Deceiving. Dark horse Comics published The Boring Issue, The Lost Issue, and The Dark Issue a compilation of the three books were also published with a lead title of Emily the Strange: Lost, Dark, and Bored followed by The Rock Issue. While Emily the Strange: The Lost Days, Emily the Strange: Stranger and Stranger, and Emily the Strange: Dark Times were published by Harper Collins.
Simply from the evident timeline of the published books, a lot of series and seasons were already published. From hundreds of volumes of each season from different publication companies how are they going to handle and create the plot of the movie?
The movie should include the most appreciated and pleased part in each season. Basing from the reports, Dark Horse Entertainment was chosen as a producer and so the said film is rumored to concentrate on the series The Boring Issue, The Lost Issue, The Dark Issue, Emily the Strange: Lost, Dark, and Bored and lastly The Rock Issue.
Less information was extracted because the producers wanted to keep it private in the meantime. However, the publishers made it sure to work the best that they can to keep the authenticity and quality of the character.
