‘Rick and Morty’ Season 3: Dan Harmon Responds To Twitter Follower Who Blasts Him For New Season’s Delay

The “Rick and Morty” team are gearing up to debut the upcoming third season of the hit Adult Swim animated series, and fans cannot wait to see what happens to Rick and his family after the shocking finale. Viewers have been getting antsy as a premiere date has yet to be announced, and some fans have decided to take out their frustrations on co-creator Dan Harmon by making unfavorable comments on his Twitter account.

On Dec. 6, a fan took to the microblogging site and wrote, “Someone take away Harmon’s Twitter until he finishes season 3.” The co-creator, who is very active on Twitter as he uses the site to communicate with fans, immediately responded and schooled the follower on what it takes to make a TV show.

“Can one of you gross children lay out in a flowchart how it is that you think TV, animation, the internet, society and/or anything works,” Harmon wrote back. The follower Dan the Stan, fired back and said that all Harmon has done is cost NBC money, and he told the show creator not to act as if he’s going as fast as he can with season 3.

Harmon admonished the haters, telling them that for half a decade, they used the social media site to ask for things, heckle celebrities, and “prove each other racist” yet the world remains the same. He also pointed out that he uses one verified account to connect with fans while “working 90 jobs,” and told Dan the Stan that he uses fake accounts to generate hatred.

“The truth is, if you want to affect people, attain identity, be heard, move others, you have to find your voice and speak for yourself,” Harmon tweeted.

A day after the Twitter exchange, it was speculated that Harmon’s temper may have contributed to the show’s delay, but Den of Geek reports that a few of the show’s writers confirmed that episodes for season 3 were completed as of Sept. 28. The episodes are said to be pending review from the show’s animation studio.

“Rick and Morty” season 3 is expected to premiere in 2017, as previously learned by Jobs & Hire.
