‘Dragon Ball Super’ Anime Update: English-Dubbed Version Is Underway To Toonami; Voice Casts Are Revealed

Funimation confirmed an English-dubbed version of the 'Dragon Ball Super' anime. The anime series will be aired on Adult Swim's Toonami early next year.

The CEO and founder of Funimation also revealed that they will be partnering with Toei Animation. Both companies, together with Toonami, will be responsible for dubbing and broadcast of the English version.

According to the iDigital Times, the "Dragon Ball Super" Season 1 will have 26 episodes. The Battle of Gods and Resurrection "F" story arc will be the main focus of the first season. The Funimation CEO and founder, Gen Fukunaga, is confident that the new anime will hit just like the previous "Dragon Ball" series.

"I have no doubt that Dragon Ball Super will eclipse the television success of the original Dragon Ball series that first aired here more than 20 years ago when anime was still new to the U.S," he stated. "Those kids that grew up watching Dragon Ball now have kids of their own."

For the past 20 years, fans accepted and supported the original "Dragon Ball" anime. The anime is now taking a new milestone as it will be having a "whole new generation of TV audiences". The English version of the "Dragon Ball Super" anime series will feature the voices of Seán Schemmel as Goku, Christopher R. Sabat as Vegeta, Jason Douglas as Beerus, Ian Sinclair as Whis, and Sonny Strait as Krillin.

The synopsis features Goku becoming a radish farmer after defeating Majin Buu. After the Earth becomes peaceful, the mighty god of destruction, Beerus, arouses. He finds himself searching for the Saiyan God and bringing havoc to the planet Earth. His encounter with Goku and his friends starts from there.

Meanwhile, Forbes noted that the "Dragon Ball Super" anime will start from the beginning of the Beerus arc. Toonami will also broadcast the "Dragon Ball Z Kai" on Jan. 7, 2017, at 12:00 AM. It is indicated that this release has something to do with the Majin Buu Saga. Since the "Dragon Ball Super" is also in connection with the saga, it will be easier for fans to plot out and remember the events.

This will be the first new "Dragon Ball" series after almost 18 years. The "Dragon Ball Super" will be aired on Jan. 7, 2017, at 8PM and 11:30PM. Are you excited for this? While you wait, check out other "Dragon Ball Super" updates from Jobs & Hire.
