On Wednesday, Feb. 1, Beyonce made headlines as the pop diva announced that she was pregnant with twins. Celebrities and Beyonce’s fans took to social media to share their excitement over the good news, and some fast food chains even joined in on the celebration over the Carter family’s special announcement.
Denny’s tweeted at 11:09 a.m. yesterday and joked about the twins, saying, “Wow, bey has TWO buns in the oven! That’s just an expression by the way. Please don’t eat those buns. They are babies.”
Popeye’s Chicken also took to the microblogging site and wrote, “She has TWO biscuits in the oven? We’ve got a lifetime membership to Popeye’s for both of them! #twins #pregnant #babybump.”
As for Burger King, the fast-food chain did not directly mention the “Formation” singer’s name on its tweet, but the company posted a photo of two burgers with the caption, “Twins are a beautiful thing.” Burger King’s followers loved the joke and one of them wrote, “I see what you did there.”
Red Lobster, which has some history with Beyonce as the singer mentioned the restaurant chain in “Formation,” extended their congratulations to the Carter family by tweeting, “We’re excited for 2 new Red Lobster fans to be welcomed into the Carter family! Congrats, Bey and Jay!” After a few hours, the company added that they hope that the twins like their famous Cheddar Bay Biscuits too.
It was reported that Beyonce’s pregnancy announcement “broke the Internet” as it became a trending topic on Twitter, with 17,000 tweets about the topic posted per minute since the pregnancy reveal, according to Twitter Data.
Beyonce took to her Instagram account to share the baby news, posting a photo of herself kneeling before a massive flower arrangement while cradling her baby bump. The pop star was dressed in a maroon bra and powder blue underpants, and she topped off her look with a sheer veil.
“We would like to share our love and happiness,” she wrote. “We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.” The photo has gotten over 9 million likes just one day after it was posted.
