Employees of the tech giant, Apple, joked around by calling the gold version of the iPhone 5S as "The Kardashian Phone."
What started as an internal joke quickly became a public term when Apple employees concocted a nickname for an upcoming device. According to a Tweet by Nick Bilton, a source who works at Apple says while the development of the phone was ongoing, it was referred as "The Kardashian Phone."
Mainly because of the reality star's public love profession for everything that's sparkly and shiny, the gold-colored iPhone 5S quickly had a nickname. Also, the star is a proud owner of everything that's recent by Apple, making the internal joke seem more apt. Although in her recent racy Instagram post, the star is seen holding a black iPhone 5.
Comments about the post quickly rounded the internet, with one user saying "Let's hope there's no sex tape of this tho."
According to TechCrunch, the gold iPhone 5S became the most sought-after device on the day of its launch. Even met with criticisms that a gold iPhone will not change how users thought of the model, reviews about the device favored positively, saying that the phone is "not bad at all." Because the model is still in short supply, many yearn to own the chic and classy iPhone that sports the champagne-colored tone.
