Mickey Rooney dead or alive? This is perhaps the biggest question that was spiralling the net today after rumors on the alleged death of the famous celebrity surfaced over the weekend. However, a Los Angeles County Coroner has now confirmed that Mickey Rooney indeed died Sunday, but no other details on his death has been revealed except from dying to natural causes.
According to CBSNews, coroner Larry Dietz has now revealed and confirmed that Mickey Rooney has indeed passed away on Sunday.
Prior to the confirmation a lot of online discussions were made, most of which questioning whether Mickey Rooney is dead or alive.
TMZ was also one of the first news sites to report about the death of the 93-year-old actor, but the famous site never mentioned that authorities have already confirmed the said news.
Throughout his lifetime, Mickey had been an active entertainer since he started to engage into the showbiz industry as a child actor.
Rooney played Andy Hardy in more than a dozen classic MGM films when he was still in his early days as an actor.
In 1939, Rooney starred in "Babes in Arms" alongside Judy Garland. A year after which, he got nominated for his leading role in "Strike Up the Band" - he was then considered as the first teenager to be nominated for an Oscar.
The famous actor also starred in another hit movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" with Audrey Hepburn.
In the late 30's, Mickey was so popular that Walt Disney decided to name his major cartoon character - a mouse - after him.
Rooney has been married eight times including his most controversial matrimony to sex siren Ava Gardner.
"I've been married so many times, I'm the only guy you know that has a marriage license made out 'to whom it may concern,'" Mickey Rooney once said.
His two latest appearances in the showbiz industry was in 2006 in "Night at the Museum" alongside Ben Stiller, and in 2011 in "The Muppets" alongside Amy Adams and Jason Segel.
