Boston marathon bomb hoax accused perpetrator was given a bail set for $100,000 for his possession of a fake bomb near the crowd along the first anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings. The court ordered the suspect, who was Kevin Edson, to be evaluated for his sanity at a state hospital.
The suspect of the Boston Marathon bomb hoax, Kevin Edson was diagnosed having history of psychiatric disturbances by a mental health professional, and was reported to court about the condition.
Police officials who responded at the scene, arrested Kevin Edson, who was in possession of a questionable backpack that contains a rice cooker near the finish line of the Boston Marathon at Boyslon Street. The area were he was arrested was the same location where the survivors of the 2013 bombing incident will finish their marathon walk to mark the first anniversary of the tragic event.
In 2013, three people were reported killed and 264 others injured during an attack using two pressure cooker bombs were set at the Boston Marathon event.
The bomb hoax suspect, Kevin Edson was arrested at the Boston Marathon event anniversary this year, when he screamed out, urging a bomb scare to the crowd. Officers who were at the scene, arrested Edson for deliberately causing panic and disturbance at the area, he was also found carrying a backpack with questionable contents. The suspect later told that it was not an explosive device which the Assistant District Attorney Susan Terrey explained to the judge.
Authorities during the event, evacuated the crowd along the are, and responded with a bomb squad to donate the rice cooker which was discovered a non explosive device.
The Boston Marathon Anniversary bomb hoax perpetrator, Kevin Edson, has been given a bail by Judge Michael Coyne on Wednesday, set for $100,000. In addition, the Suffolk County district attorney said on a statement, that Kevin Edson, will be charge for disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, possession of a hoax bomb device, and declaring fake bomb threats. He can be charged for 20 years in a federal prison if convicted of the crime.
