Dave Rexroth's Twitter posts prior to the Fourth of July freak accident that cost him his left eye vision revealed his anticipation and excitement over the Independence Day fireworks display.

Detroit's Channel 7 WXYZ-TV meteorologist Dave Rexroth's Twitter posts exposed the TV personality's joy and excitement over the then-upcoming Fourth of July fireworks.

In Dave Rexroth's Twitter post on July 1, the TV meteorologist said, "Still looking good for the holiday on Friday. The only boom-boom should be from fireworks" alongside a snap of the Fourth of July weather forecast.

Then, in Dave Rexroth's Twitter post he wrote on July 2, he just couldn't hide his excitement over the fireworks display that is set to happen on July 4. He shared a photo of fireworks gracing the night skies of the city and captioned it with: "What do you like for the 4th of July, Hot and sticky or cool  and breezy? forecast at 5 on 7."

As though that wasn't enough to express his joyful anticipation, Dave shared another photo minutes later. This time, the photo shows him holding a large cut-out of his smiling printed head, suggesting that he may have been very pleased with the forecast for the Fourth of July weekend. Rexroth even captioned the photo with: "The holiday forecast looks SOOOOOOOO good, I am getting a big head over it. Mostly sunny and 78! Enjoy!"

Nevertheless, it seemed that though Dave Rexroth's Twitter posts have been accurate on predicting the good weather of the Fourth of July weekend, he did not anticipate the freak accident that was about to happen to him.

According to Channel 7 WXYZ-TV's website, Rexroth apparently got involved into a freak fireworks mishap during the fireworks display such that his left eye vision has been permanently damaged and the Detroit meteorologist is now awaiting for his scheduled prosthetic surgery on Wednesday, July 9.

Though Dave Rexroth's Twitter post didn't say anything about what his plans were the day of the accident, it was found out that he was vacationing with his family in Iowa City when the tragic accident happened.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Dave and his family and they have our full support during this difficult time. As Dave recovers, we'll provide updates on his progress - and we look forward to his return to Action News," WXYZ Vice President Ed Fernandez said in a statement.

More details on how the accident happened are yet to be disclosed while Rexroth's fans and supporters are currently being asked to send the TV personality "get well" wishes to the station's official Facebook page or to tweet them on Dave Rexroth's Twitter account @rexroth7wxyz.

Rexroth is currently staying at a local Iowa hospital and he is expected to fully recover by September, added the WXYZ-TV website.
