Apple IOS 8.1 Update: What To Expect

iOS 8.1 - The latest update to Apple's flagship operating system has become available for download by the general public since 10 a.m. this Monday.
The internet has been agog with news and rumors about the new additions that the iOS 8.1 will feature. The head of Apple's software division Craig Federlghl, who announced the impending release of the iOS 8.1 during a press event last week, noted that the new update will "bring back the beloved camera roll."
Many users of Apple devices had complained after the company eliminated the camera roll folder from the iOS 8 update last month. Reports indicate that the folder has been restored in the iOS 8.1 update.
Apple has also introduced an iCloud Photo Library which will automatically store user's photos and videos on their iCloud account - making it readily accessible to them on all their Apple devices.
The iOS 8.1 also introduces Apple Pay; an e-payment solution that allows users of Apple products make payment on their purchases in shops or online directly from their devices.
Another notable change featured in the iOS 8.1 is that now users of Apple devices will be able to make and receive calls on their Mac. Users will also be able to receive text messages, even if the people sending it to them are not on Apple's iOS platform.
The iOS 8.1 is the second major update to be released for the iOS 8 since it hit the market last month. Apple's attempt at providing an update to fix issues associated with the iOS 8 has been fraught with even greater challenges. Many commentators expect the company to get things right with the release of the iOS 8.1.
Meanwhile, unlike previous Apple iOS releases, there isn't much interest in the hacking community to jailbreak the new iOS 8.1.
