During a recent interview with Howard Stern, Amy Poehler opened up about post-marriage dating. The comedian also confessed about going on a date with actor John Stamos, after she and her husband Will Arnett parted ways.

"It was new and weird," she said about dating again. "I hadn't dated when there was texting. I got married in 2003 and all of a sudden I'm like, 'Oh, right now you text somebody.' That was new."

Amy Poehler explained and clarified during her interview with Stern that when she and Stamos went out after he asked her to dinner; she was already separated from her husband Will Arnett at the time.

"I was at a restaurant. We were having dinner and I was like, 'Oh, maybe this is a date!'" she shared about her time with Stamos. "I didn't know ... I kinda blew it."

Amy Poehler said she is okay with the fact that she did not get intimate with Stamos after their dinner date. E! News reported dating can be hard because of her fame, but the actress said it's easy to gauge a man's intentions.

Amy Poehler, the 43-year-old comedian was in a 9-year marriage with Will Arnett, with whom she shares two sons. According to the New York Daily News, Poehler's husband, Arnett, filed for divorce in April 18, months after they announced their separation.

During the interview, Stern also asked Amy Poehler about her divorce with husband Will Arnett.

"As you know, Will and I are very, very good friends. We are doing a really good job," Poehler stated. "I don't think a 10-year marriage constitutes a failure. I think relationships are really tough."

Stern also asked his guest if who called it quits.

"It was kind of like...I don't know if I want to get into that. But I do think that it's interesting when you go through a divorce how everybody...Divorce is like not that special, so people are kind of interested and then they're just not anymore," she shared.  "It's kind of like you get all the pain but really none of the sympathy, because it's so common. The pain that you're in is very specific to you and special, and everybody reacts very differently. Your married friends get a little nervous that it's contagious, and your single friends [react differently]."

Meanwhile, in her new memoir, Amy Poehler also opened up about her sentiments since she and husband Arnett announced their separation in September 2012.

"When you are a person going through a divorce, you feel incredibly alone, yet you are constantly reminded by society of how frequently divorce happens and how common it has become," the comedian wrote. "You aren't allowed to feel special, but no one knows the specific ways you are in pain."

Divorce is not subject Amy Poehler wants to dwell on for too long. However, the Huffington Post reported she admits that she is proud of how well she and her husband have worked together to raise their two children.

"I am proud of how my ex-husband Will and I have been taking care of our children," Amy Poehler wrote. "I am beyond grateful he is their father, and I don't think a ten-year marriage constitutes failure. That being said, getting a divorce really sucks."

Currently, Amy Poehler is dating Nick Kroll. And her memoir entitled, "Yes Pease," is set to be released on Oct. 8.
