Already secured of a spot in the knockout stages, Real Madrid is still expected to bring its A-game on Wednesday as Cristiano Ronaldo and company take on Basel FC at St. Jakob-Park in Basel, Switzerland.

Real Madrid, gunning for their fifth victory in as many games in the UEFA Champions League tournament, enters their second Group Stage showdown with Basel in high spirit after overwhelming Eibar in last weekend's Spanish La Liga Play.

The reigning UEFA Champions League champion has been super-dominant in the early stage of the tournament, recording 11 goals against two allowed scores in four matchups.

In their first match against Basel, the Galacticos simply overpowered Basel from start to finish, scoring a convincing 5-1 win at Santiago de Bernabeau.

However, Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelloti reminded his boys not to be complacent because any time their 14-match winning streak in all competition (seven-game winning streak in Europe) could come to an end.

'Yeah, we know that day will come. Our aim is to continue our strong run. All the players are motivated and it is a very long season. We need to continue with the same attitude,' Ancelloti said of Real Madrid's impressive streak.

Asier Illarramendi is expected to suit up for Real Madrid after being sidelined with groin injury in the opening week of November, although the team will still miss the service of Luka Modric (thigh), Jese (knee), Sami Khedira (rest) and Pepe (rest).

In other UEFA Champions League group stage matches, Arsenal will try to keep their knockout stages bid alive against Bundes Liga power Borussia Dorthmund. English Premier League's top-tier team Liverpool will also fight for their survival as they play Ludogorets Razgrad at Vasil Levski National Stadium.
