Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s next fight is reportedly against Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao. However, the reports seemed to be just a falsely fabricated information after Mayweather slammed the rumors with a hash tag #FightNotMadeYet" on Instagram Saturday, Jan. 31.

On Friday, the social media went crazy after TMZ, a celebrity gossip Web site reported that Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s next fight against Manny Pacquaio was already a done deal.

"Floyd Mayweather has agreed to fight Manny Pacquiao ... multiple sources tell TMZ Sports ... who say the two finally came to an agreement moments ago," the site initially reported. "The two sides had been trying to hammer out a deal for a while to square off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2nd."

The erroneous report about Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s next fight was promptly denied by the famed American boxer through an Instagram post on Saturday, Yahoo! Sports revealed.

"Laying back, relaxing, enjoying good weather, palm trees and piña coladas," Mayweather captioned his photo. "While they continue to lie about making the fight... I'm just going to continue to travel and explore the world on my private jet. #FightNotMadeYet #Jamaica"

The news was also shot down by Stephen Espinoza, the general manager of Showtime Sports who is involved in the negotiations for Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s next fight.

"TMZ usually has good sources," Espinoza said as quoted by ESPN. "This time, not so much."

Meanwhile, sources from both camps have also denied the reports.

"Not true," a source said. While another added, "Absolutely untrue. We still have significant unresolved issues. Nothing is happening before mid next week at the soonest. Not that close on deal terms."

The speculations about Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s next fight might have been fueled by the meeting of the boxing titans, Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, during a Miami Heat game this past week. Later that night, Rappler revealed the two fighters allegedly continued the discussions about their much-awaited fight in Pacquaio's hotel room.

For years, boxing fans and sport enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for the right opportunity for Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s next fight against Manny Pacquaio. And though the two champs have already been sparring outside the ring, their faceoff will finally end the endless debate about who among them will be hailed as the world's ultimate boxing champion.
