Young actress Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark in HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones," is turning 18 today! To celebrate her birthday, here are five interesting facts about her that fans surely want to know.

1. Maisie Williams is a big Audrey Hepburn fan. Despite playing the savagely fierce Arya in the series, in real life, Williams she's a girly girl who idolizes the legendary British actress. In fact, she has a collection of photos showing how similar her eyebrows are to those of the famous actress. She even showcased them in one of her Vine posts in late 2013. This obviously proves that the young "GoT" star looks up to Hepburn.

2. Just like Audrey Hepburn, who was a very influential humanitarian when she was still alive, Williams is also fighting for a cause. The now-18-year-old actress is apparently concerned about how her fellow teens view politics. Thus, it's not surprising that she once tweeted an guide to politics to her followers to widen their awareness on the odds and ends of U.K. politics.

3. Aside from being politically inclined, Maisie Williams is also an advocate of The Dolphin Project. This advocacy primarily focuses on educating the world the dangers that dolphins face and the repercussions of their captivity. Interestingly, she's not the only celeb to join this cause. One Direction's Harry Styles is also a proud supporter.

4. Williams never planned to become an actress. In a recent interview, the "Game of Thrones" Season 5 star revealed that she never thought of becoming a big actress, reports NDTV.

"I didn't want to escape my life and become a big actress and live my dreams. That was never the way it was, it was just these amazing opportunities that happened," she said.

Williams added, "To express your views as a 17-year-old and be listened to is wonderful but with that comes great scrutiny and it's difficult to find the balance. No one teaches you how to be a famous person; no one teaches you how to be a role model. It's something you have to do on your own."

5. Maisie can't stand blood and gore. The young actress has revealed in the past that though she participates in gruesome scenes for the HBO series, she does not enjoy doing them.

According to Celeb Answers, Williams even cover her eyes when she's leaving the room or the set where they are filming graphic, gory scenes.
