Will There Be A Huawei Nexus Coming Soon?

Google announced some devices in October last year: the Motorola Nexus 6 phablet as well as HTC's Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. It was reported that these Nexus devices were the last Nexus offerings of Google, but rumors about upcoming new Nexus devices that we have yet to see recently surfaced. Case in point are the whispers surrounding Huawei and LG making Nexus smartphones this year. LG is reportedly working on a 5.2-inch device and Huawei with a 5.7.
Android Headlines cited a report from last month that one of Huawei's insiders confirmed that the Chinese tech giant is at work on a Nexus device, and they also cited an update.
Google and Huawei are said to have joined forces for a new Nexus device. Aside from this, the two giants are also planning to bring Google Play store to China. Of course, many are familiar with the restrictive rules of the Chinese government, and both Google and Huawei are at works to deal with this barrier.
Moreover, Google in turn will help market future Huawei devices in the west. Though Huawei is a big name in China and other foreign markets, its popularity has not taken off in the U.S. that is primarily dominated by Apple and Samsung. Google aims to help change this. The Verge said that part of these future devices that Google will help market is a smartwatch.
It would be interesting to see if this alliance between Google and Huawei pushes through. Both companies can benefit from one another, as they would take a step toward common ground of tapping tough, but promising markets — each company getting a crack at the country of the other. Whatever the case may be, we can expect to see new Nexus devices this year.
Meanwhile, Phone Arena reported that the Android M Developer is now available for download on the Nexus 5, 6, and 9, as well as the Nexus Player. Google said that the update includes a variety of enhancements and bug fixes made across the system. This covers related issues that developers reported through the external issue tracker.
