Christina Hendricks' husband, Geoffrey Arend, has yet to react to his wife's role in the movie adaptation of Gillian Flynn's "Dark Places."

His reaction is awaited because his wife, Christina Hendricks, 40, plays mom to Charlize Theron's character Libby Day! What's fascinating about it is that Theron is 39 years old, just a year shy from his beloved Christina.

Christina Hendrick's husband should know though that she first signed on to the drama movie to portray Krissi Cates, a stripper hiding secrets about her family's death, for which she was magnetized by the uniqueness of the role, but her bubble burst unexpectedly when producers of the movie requested her to play a totally different role when the filming started on its first day, as per Us Weekly.

Instead of playing Krissi, Christina Hendricks was asked to portray Charlize Theron's mother, Patty Day! Talk about a 360 degree turn.

Hendricks recollected, "I got there and was doing a hair and makeup test [as Krissi] and was putting on this long blonde wig, and then they said, 'Charlize and Gilles [Paquet-Brenner, the director] would like to see you on set.' And I thought, 'Okay, they're not going to like the wig, I get it.'"

When she met with them, "They said, 'We lost our Patty. And we were wondering if you want to play Patty Day instead of Krissi,'" she added. "I came about it in a very odd way . . . [and] it threw me for a loop, but it ended up working out."

It won't be that bizarre to see Christina Hendricks as mom to Libby Day since in the book, the story line of Patty Day is shown in flashbacks. "It was one of those scripts that I couldn't put down. Which is not always the case, sometimes you procrastinate and have to get up and make a sandwich in between lines, but this was a page turner," she said. Drea De Matteo later replaced her as Krissi.

Meanwhile, according to E! News, Hendricks got another Emmy nod last week — her sixth — for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her efforts on "Mad Men" as Joan.

As the Emmys approaches, she is getting ready on what to wear at the red carpet. She disclosed, "No colors picked out, [but] I have certain designers who I love so we're going to make some phone calls and see what we can find."

So what does Christina Hendricks husband think about her "Mad Men" stint?

Hendricks related that since she has been on the hit show her sensuality has been noticed and her husband Geoffrey has recognized that he was the first one who saw that side of her, as per Heavy.

"Ha! Whenever we see something about it, he always says, 'I told you from the beginning. I'm the one who called it first.' So he just wants a little credit. Really, he's sweet and he's happy for me, "she said in a conversation with Health.
